Repatriation of Mortal remains

Please see below the documents required to obtain a certificate of repatriation, which will allow for the deceased to return to Cameroon from the United Kingdom or the Scandinavian region:

1. Written request addressed to the High Commissioner

2. Death certificate.

3. Affidavits of content.

4. Cameroonian ID of the Deceased.

5. Embalming certificate.

6. Authorisation to take the body out of the UK or the Scandinavian region.

7. Free from infection certificate.

NB: In addition to the above documents, the family will need to obtain a burial permit, and an authorization from the Service of Social and Cultural Affairs of the Central or Littoral Region signed by a Senior Divisional Officer (Le PREFET).

This will allow for the transfer/entrance of the mortal remains into the region (Douala/Yaoundé). Be mindful of the fact that, without this authorization, it may not be possible to issue a Certificate of Repatriation or mortal remains.
